In a seemingly fitting synergy, as we celebrate women supporting women, it is paramount that we spread the message of breast screening and support
The McGrath Foundation raises money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia. Currently there are 120 McGrath Breast Care Nurses, who help individuals and their families experiencing breast cancer by providing physical, psychological and emotional support, for free.
From the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment, these highly-qualified nurses are there to help. While more than 67,000 families have been supported since 2005, more nurses are needed to meet the growing rate of breast cancer diagnosis in Australia.
So far, through FCTG’s network of women around the country, more than $15,000 has been raised. All funds raised will help place specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses everywhere they are needed and to increase breast health understanding.
