Vicki started her career with Flight Centre 14.5 years ago as a travel consultant in New Zealand. From team leader to regional leader, brand leader to Operations Director, she has lived and worked in New Zealand, India and Singapore in various roles within the group. Currently the Senior Director of Customer Experience for FCM in Asia, Vicki loves her job as everyday is different and brings new challenges from problem-solving for a client to helping someone to grow. Her absolute favourite part of the role? Being surrounded by her wonderful team and ridiculous laughter every single day.
As a master practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming and soon-to-be NLP Certified Meta Coach, Vicki loves working and mentoring people especially women, and we had to find out why.
I work with emerging women leaders in FCM Asia, to develop their own confidence and growth within the company through improved business acumen, strategic thinking ability and to lead with authenticity.
I grew up as an emerging leader feeling that I had to work harder and longer than others to prove myself. I was also a single mother for some of these years and I always felt like I had to sacrifice time with my daughter to be seen and be successful. I want women within our business to learn that it’s OK to be fallible, to support each other in the struggle to balance our responsibilities and that it’s our humanity that brings authenticity and strength to our role as leaders.
Never confuse popularity with respect. The first is fun, but the other is crucial, and the quality of your thinking and value of the work you put forward should always count for more than how late you stay at the bar, or how much overtime you put in.
